A psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor who has completed four years of medical school to earn the MD degree, followed by four years of psychiatric residency training. Psychiatrists can prescribe medications.
A psychologist is a professional who treats mental health conditions with talk therapy. Psychologists cannot prescribe medications in most states.
Dr. Rosenthal does not accept insurance, including Medicare or Medicaid. This allows her to offer high quality care without limitations imposed by insurers. Dr. Rosenthal will provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.
Dr. Rosenthal sees patients ages 18 and older in California and patients 15 and older in Colorado. These are the minimum age requirements in each state to consent to medical treatment.
